FAQ
Are my image frames uploaded?
No. The browser reads each selected image, draws it to a local canvas, and sends those canvas frames to its built-in video encoder. CanDoYa does not receive the images or finished video. Temporary preview URLs are released when you reset the tool or leave the page.
Is the frames to video converter free?
Yes. You can create and download an MP4 without an account, watermark, or payment. The practical limits are your device memory and browser encoder. This tool accepts up to 300 frames and 300 MB total to reduce the chance of a tab running out of memory.
Which image formats can I use?
Use PNG, JPEG, or WebP images. Current browsers decode these formats reliably and can draw them to the encoding canvas. Animated images are treated as single still frames. TIFF, SVG, HEIC, AVIF, and camera raw files are not accepted in this version.
How are frames ordered?
Files are sorted naturally by name, which means frame-2 comes before frame-10. You can inspect the thumbnail list and move individual frames up or down before encoding. For portable project folders, use consistent zero-padded names such as shot-0001.png.
What frame rate should I choose?
Use 24 or 30 fps for smooth animation and rendered previews, 12 fps for hand-drawn animation or stop motion, and 6 fps for a slower storyboard. Each image occupies one frame. Increasing fps shortens the video because the same sequence plays faster.
Why does the video have bars or cropped edges?
Contain preserves every pixel and adds the selected background color when a frame's aspect ratio differs from the output. Cover fills the whole video but crops the frame edges. Choose an output ratio that matches your images to avoid either effect.
Which browsers can create the video?
The tool needs WebCodecs video encoding. It creates MP4 when AVC encoding is available and falls back to WebM with VP9 or VP8. Current Chromium browsers are the safest choice, while codec support can vary by browser, operating system, and hardware.
