This tool changes resolution rather than duration. Fit keeps every part of the picture visible and adds colored borders when the source and output shapes differ. The browser loads a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg only when you start the export. It scales frames with Lanczos resampling, writes H.264 video with AAC audio, and removes subtitles, chapters, attachments, and source metadata. The practical file limit is 100 MB on mobile or lower-memory devices, 250 MB on a typical desktop, and 500 MB on high-memory desktops.

Is my video uploaded when I resize it?

No. The browser reads your selected file and a WebAssembly video engine creates the resized result in this tab. The engine code downloads when first needed, but your source video and finished MP4 are not sent to CanDoYa or stored in an account.

Is this video resizer free and watermark-free?

Yes. You can choose dimensions, process the video, preview the result, and download the MP4 without an account, subscription, credit limit, or watermark. The practical limits come from your device's memory and processor rather than a paid server export tier.

How large a video can I resize in the browser?

The conservative limit is 100 MB on mobile or lower-memory devices, 250 MB on a typical desktop, and 500 MB on high-memory desktops. A file near the limit may still be slow because the browser holds the source, video engine, working data, and result in memory.

Can I resize a video for Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube?

Yes. Presets include 1080 x 1920 for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, 1080 x 1350 for portrait feeds, 1080 x 1080 for square posts, and 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 for landscape video.

What is the difference between fit and fill?

Fit keeps the complete source picture and adds borders when its shape differs from the output. Fill makes the picture cover the output frame, then crops the excess equally from the center. Use fit when nothing can be cut off and fill when edge-to-edge framing matters.

Does resizing a video reduce its file size?

Sometimes, but not always. Fewer output pixels often reduce file size, while upscaling or re-encoding a highly compressed source can make it larger. Use the video compressor when file size is the main goal because it exposes resolution and quality choices designed for compression.

Will the resized video keep its audio?

Yes, when the source has a readable audio track. The resizer encodes the picture as H.264 and keeps the first audio stream as AAC. A silent source remains silent. Extra audio tracks, subtitles, chapters, attachments, and source metadata are not copied.

Why can resizing a 4K video take several minutes?

Every frame must be decoded, scaled, and encoded again on your device. Long duration, 4K resolution, uncommon codecs, and limited memory increase processing time. Keep the tab open, close other heavy tabs, and use a desktop editor for long or very large projects.
